6 months agoThe whole experience was a little sketchy and the outcome not the quality I was expecting. I thought I was working with Legendary Concrete Mesa, but they ended up sending out a random guy Jorge who owned a lawn care service. I ended up receiving an estimate based off a diagram I sent him (see attached photo). His price was competitive, and he was going to do an extra retaining wall as well in that price, so I thought things were off to a good start. I thought I was provided an estimate to do a monolithic 12x20 shed foundation with 12" footings with wire mesh, with a 18x9' concrete path in front with a 3 foot tall retaining wall behind. I had some concerns about if they had experience doing structural foundations, and Jorge sent me a blurry video of a house foundation, and said "It's a project that was completed 15 days ago". I assumed this meant he had built a house foundation a few weeks ago, so I decided to move forward thinking they had plenty of experience. I gave the down payment and Jorge and his friend showed up the next day to start on the project. This is were it become a poor experience. I thought they'd show up with an excavator to dig my shed footings, but it was just the two of them with shovels. They didn't want to dig the 12" deep that I thought I was paying for, but only 8" deep. I pushed back multiple times but they just wouldn't budge, so I gave in since I'd already given them thousands of dollars to start the project. Once they cheaply formed out the shed, we talked about the retaining wall. Jorge said he was going to just do one row of block, and I was like, what the heck, what's even the point of that, I wanted a 3' retaining wall behind the shed like we discussed, so I ended up telling him not to do it. Then concrete day came, and the final result was subpar. There's honeycombing everywhere, they didn't tamp the aggregate down, so you can see the rocks at the top, and the edges are breaking off. It'll probably cure nicer in a few weeks, but you can't fix the honeycombing, which is frustrating, because this needed to be structurally sound for a heavy shed. Anyways, Jorge would be great for simple 4" slabs or pathways, but I do not recommend Legendary Concrete for any structural work or for foundations. I ended up paying more in the end, and getting less then other estimates I had received.
