4 years agoThese people market themselves as qualified to repair Sub Zero Refrigerators. I called to make an appointment and asked the receptionist if the technician could bring a copy of his certification with him so I could verify he is certified prior to his operating on the refrigerator. "No problem, I will have him do that," she replied. I then get a call moments later (after scheduling the appointment) and the receptionist says, "Our technicians are certified to repair appliances, but not certified specifically by Sub Zero." She then said, "But they have CERTIFIED experience." Be careful. These people are either not certain of their techs' qualifications (unlikely), or simply holding themselves out as certified experts of products for which they do not maintain specific product certification. If I did not inquire, they would have sent someone over who was not specifically certified to service Sub Zero refrigerators. Sub Zero appliances are high end and expensive. Not having them serviced by certified Sub Zero techs and/or not using Sub Zero parts could have implications for further service/any manufacturer warranty down the line. Please be aware "Phoenix Sub Zero Repair" is not an accurate description for these folks, as it implies a certified expertise in Sub Zero appliances, when they have none.

4 years agoPhoenix Sub Zero responded to my call about changing a water filter on the Sub Zero Refridgerator. It took a week to arrive and when they did show up, they wanted to charge around $1500 to do it. That seemed rather high even though my filter was stuck and it would need to be 'extracted' rather than unscrewed. Instead I called Tri City and they did the job and changed my air filter for just over $600. So, even though I paid $160 for a service call from Phx Sub Zero($40 more than Tri City) I still saved about $750. Tri City also gave me the web site where I could order the parts at about 1/3 the cost of what Phx SZ wanted to charge. It just seemed that because we had a Sub Zero, they were going to over charge. Glad I called Tri City.
